Emergency Giving - Support Ukraine
The war in Ukraine affects all of us. We see images of destruction and people on the run. Everyone wants to do something to support Ukraine. We do too. That is why we set up Emergency Giving.
With Emergency Giving, employees can support Ukrainian people directly. They can make their own choice from a selection of charities, and donations are doubled by employers.
With Emergency Giving, you support Ukraine in these trying times as an organisation, together with your employees .
Do you want to join? Let us know. You will receive a unique link and you can start immediately. Contact us at noodgift@thesocialhandshake.com.
This is how our charities support Ukraine:
Amnesty
With the Russian invasion of Ukraine, it seems inevitable that there will be civilian casualties and human rights violations. That is why Amnesty protects civilians in this conflict, by standing up for their rights.
Bellingcat
Bellingcat is an independent international collective of researchers, investigators and citizen journalists. They are currently conducting research on the Russian invasion of Ukraine, using open source and social media. This is important to be able to provide policy makers and journalists, among others, with reliable information.
Free Press Unlimited
After Russia's invasion, the future of Ukraine and its independent media is uncertain. Free Press Unlimited protects journalists, brings them to safety, and provides resources so that they can continue to deliver independent information as best as possible.
Giro 555
In the event of exceptional disasters, 11 collaborating aid organizations* from the Netherlands join forces under the name Giro555. These organizations are present in the area of Ukraine, either by themselves or through local partners. They make sure that refugees have access to shelter, water and food, and they work on sanitation and supply medicines.
*Stichting Vluchteling, Cordaid, CARE Nederland, Kerk in Actie, Oxfam Novib, Save the Children, UNICEF Nederland, Nederlandse Rode Kruis, Plan International, Terre des Hommes and World Vision.
Stichting Vluchteling
The UN expects millions of people to flee the war in Ukraine. Stichting Vluchteling is working with local and international partners to provide emergency assistance to those fleeing the war and violence. This emergency aid mainly consists of the basic necessities needed by refugees.
UNICEF Nederland
The lives and well-being of 7.5 million children in Ukraine are being threatened. UNICEF Netherlands therefore provides immediate assistance to children and families in need. For example, they provide life-saving supplies such as clean drinking water, winter clothing, hygiene kits and healthcare.
Vluchtelingenwerk Nederland
It is expected that many Ukrainian refugees will also arrive in the Netherlands, seeking protection and safety. Vluchtelingenwerk Nederland is ready to support them during this difficult and emotional time. They assist every Ukrainian person who decides to apply for asylum in the Netherlands and support them in finding their way in Dutch society.
War Child
For refugee children, rapid psychosocial support is of vital importance. That is why War Child is currently present in the border area with Ukraine. They are supporting volunteers and civil society organizations that are taking action and they train them to offer psychological first aid and set up safe places for refugee children.
