Emergency Payrollgivng and Giro555: Acting together for the Middle East
October 10 2024
There are people everywhere who never asked for this, who have left their homes behind. This is why it’s so important that NPO, Talpa, RTL, and Giro555 are joining forces for a national action day for the Middle East.
For over a year, there has been ongoing conflict in the Middle East, causing an enormous humanitarian crisis. Hundreds of thousands of people in Lebanon, Gaza, the West Bank, Israel, and Syria rely on aid for food, water, and medical care.
The crises are different in nature, but what they have in common is that there are victims everywhere. People who never wanted this. People who have left their homes, lost loved ones, and are now struggling to survive.
As long as the conflict continues, more victims will fall. Only when the violence stops can this humanitarian crisis truly end.
But until that happens, we can still be there for the people who are caught in the middle of it and need our help now.
That’s why there will be a national action day next Wednesday. NPO, Talpa, and RTL are joining forces. Throughout the day, advertisements will air on various TV and radio stations, and in the evening, there will be broadcasts on NPO 1, RTL 4, and SBS.
The conflict has caused division and tension for a long time, even here in the Netherlands. But that shouldn’t stop us from seeing and helping people in need. What we need most is connection.
That’s why it’s commendable that the broadcasters and Giro555 are coming together for a national action day to raise funds for the victims. There are victims everywhere—men, women, children—who never asked for this and who urgently need help, regardless of where they come from.
At The Social Handshake, we’re also trying to contribute by reopening our NoodGift platform next week. Employees can use an easy tool to donate to Giro555 or one of the charities on our platform that provide emergency relief in the affected areas. Companies show their involvement by contributing extra and, together with employees, supporting the victims. This way, we contribute to more connection with each other and support the victims in the Middle East.
